What is love? There are so many definitions and yet we find it so hard to really understand what it means. Even when we think we know what it feels like, we still find it hard to pinpoint that emotion. There is a thin line between love and hate, so how do you know you really love someone when they have hurt you? Is love a temporary emotion? If it is so fragile, why do we connect with it so easily and are so quick to say the words “I love you”?
I do believe in God but I will admit that I am not a church goer, so I will not preach to you what you should or should not believe in. For me, when I was struggling to understand what love meant, the only words that I felt were true to me were from the bible.. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
